About VLS Care Ltd
We're a dedicated care company with a simple mission: to support adults with physical and learning disabilities to live the life they choose.
Our Mission
At VLS Care Ltd, we believe that every person — regardless of their disability — deserves to live a full, independent, and meaningful life. We provide 24/7 supported living, independent living, outreach, and day services across Calderdale, Rochdale, and Lancashire North.
We work alongside the people we support, not for them, to help them reach their goals and celebrate every achievement along the way. Our approach is built on respect, dignity, and genuine care — taking the time to understand each person as an individual.
Our supported living homes and Outreach Service provide personalised support for adults aged 18 and over. Whether somebody is moving into their first home, leaving care, developing new skills or simply looking for more opportunities to be part of their community, our support is built around the individual — not a standard timetable or a one-size-fits-all package.
Our Values
Person-centred
Everything we do starts with the individual. Your goals, your choices, your life — we build support around what matters most to you.
Empowering
We celebrate independence and help people achieve things they never thought possible — at their own pace, in their own way.
Compassionate
Our team genuinely cares — about the people we support and about doing the right thing, every single day.
Professional
Qualified, trained, and committed to the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and ongoing professional development.
Community-focused
We believe in the power of belonging — helping people connect, contribute, and thrive in their local communities.
Transparent
Open, honest communication with the people we support, their families, and professionals at all times.
Our Commitment to Quality
We are committed to providing the highest quality of care and support. Our team undergoes rigorous training and ongoing professional development to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to support people effectively and safely.
We work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and local authorities to ensure that the people we support receive joined-up, holistic care that meets all their needs.
Working alongside the person, their family, professionals and wider support network, we create an individual activity and independence plan. This balances personal choice, safety and development while ensuring activities remain accessible, inclusive and socially engaging.
Inclusion With Purpose
Being included means more than simply being present. It means being welcomed, involved, valued and able to participate in a way that feels right for the individual.
At VLS Care, we create opportunities for people to learn, contribute and build genuine relationships. Every activity has the potential to develop confidence, communication, independence or a sense of belonging — but it must also be enjoyable and meaningful.
Whether someone receives Outreach support or lives in one of our supported living homes, our purpose remains the same: to provide the right support, in the right environment, so that every person can build a life that reflects who they are, what they can do and what they hope to achieve.
Our Links With CalderStones Community CIC
Through our links with CalderStones Community CIC, the people we support can access opportunities such as the Can-Do Café — a practical and supportive environment where people develop skills in budgeting, shopping, food preparation, cooking, hygiene, teamwork and customer service. It is about much more than making a meal. It gives people a purpose, an opportunity to contribute and a genuine sense of achievement.
